I was really impressed with the demonstations in South Korea that have been on the news this week. 80,000 people coming out to make their voices heard. To think about 20 years ago Korea was under military leadership and now they are an example of democracy at work in the East Asia theater. Most of the 80,000 people who were demonstrating the governments decision to lift the ban on US beef, were young people who are connecting through the information (web/phone) age technology that is so prevalent in Korea. It will be intereesting to see what happens after this powerful example of praticipatory democracy.
