Additionally St. Andrews University is creating new teaching posts that will develop Chinese Studies. They are seeking donations that will add up to 4 million pounds. Like many institutions of higher learning St. Andrews university has realized that preparing students to work with China is not an option but a necessity in view of the rapid and massive growth of this ancient nation.

The website at St. Andrews university in Scotland is a website that is very limited regarding Chinese studies. Their website explains that they want to develop their program in light of the emerging influence of China as a superpower. They ask for donations and point to other departments that touch on China.
