Hi Folks,
I know everyone's too busy just now to participate in the forum, but I wanted to encourage us to use the forum to remember those stories we must tell students and friends. Also -- I know that there are experiences individuals have had that time and the crush of other business has prevented us from getting out. Let's use this forum as a means to prompt each other to share what we are experiencing.

OK, maybe it's too early for serious reflection on our adventures. Perhaps, though, you'd like to share which of your acquisitions has thus far brought the biggest smiles and which you're happiest about hauling all the way home.
Hello, Everyone!! Well, one of the most precious items I brought back was the picture of all of us infront of the Bell Tower Hotel in Xi'an!! The next best thing is the picture of my yak ride in the Himalayas. That's been a real "ooh-aah" getter from family and friends. Even the mule ride in Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite, last week pales to the yak--I didn't even eat the mule!! When six of us went to a Chinese restaurant, I insisted on a lazy susan, but it just wasn't the same without you all. This week my daughter and I are in Solvang learning how to train horses--I promise to be more active on the forum real soon. Thank you, Clay, for not giving up on us!!!
Missing you,
Alison
I have worn my simple string of pearls nearly every day! As for my silk rug, it is neatly stored until I get around to hanging it. I have taken it down to look at and sit on for a while. I am looking forward to receiving my packages!
I finally took my film in today which is a record quick for me.
The trip was unforgetable and I learned not only from the sites and people of China, but also from each of you, thanks! I hope each of you are doing well.
Fondly,
Andrea
Here is the shot that got me a very dirty look.
Check out the face of the woman behind him!

I am attempting to attach a photo....
All my stuff arrived safely, including my jade carving, silk tapestry, and 4 panel glass screen w/ silk embroidered flowers. 😀 My two packages of books I mailed from China arrived O.K. I'm glad I didn't have to carry them home with me! 😛
In addition to all the 35 mm photos I had developed in China, I recently had 9 rolls of slides developed. They turned out great! I'll have to share them at the October reunion.
Susan and I both picked up these super-huge =:O aerial photos of the 3 Gorges section of the Yangtze River. They roll out in a 30-foot long scroll.
I'm glad I didn't drag home any terracotta warriors 😛 . From what I heard most of them got busted including Ed's (6) . Besides, you can buy them in Chinatown anyway.
Paul
