Traktivist is a website that features Asian North American artists and their music. The idea of the site is to celebrate and promote the stories and experiences of Asians and their dynamic experiences with culture. The website can be searched by artist, instrument/type, genre, and ethnicity. Hopefully students can navigate this website to find artists’ stories that help authenticate their own experiences as Asian Americans. It would also be interesting to see how these songs or music videos could be jumpoff points for students to find primary sources or research more about the history that the songs are about.
