I've seen parts of this film! It's really interesting and kind of sad at times. What I loved about it was how little dialogue there was. The film is instead moved along by the girl's circumstance and how they respond to it, not so much with words but with actions and emotions. Very cool movie.

I watched this movie over Christmas break and I wanted to recommend it to everyone in the class. It is a very realistic movie where the mother of two young girls, who are struggling financially, are sent to live with their alcoholic aunt as their mother goes to look for her "missing" husband. The girls have a tough time with their aunt as she is not a great caregiver and the girls are forced to fend for themselves, even gathering grasshoppers to roast and sell so they can eat and fill their piggy bank. Their mother told them that she would come for them when the bank is full and they were supposed to get money from their aunt when they followed directions but she doesn't. The girls begin filling the bank in the hopes of seeing mom again but they never do. The aunt then sends them to their grandparents to live and the girls do enjoy a better life, especially with their grandmother. It was a really touching film and highlighted a trend of children who are not growing up with their parents who are struggling to earn money.

This South Korean film depicts two young girls learning to grow up without their mother while being passed to live with different relatives.
