The University of Virginia has an Asia Institute, whose website is filled with great resources, including information on the economy, history and languages of the countries in East and South Asia. I was able to peruse the site a few times this week and came across several materials that I will incorporate into my East Asia unit in the fall. On this site I found charts that students could analyze to collect data on economic growth or population growth, I also found lesson plans, visuals ( Maps, flags, charts, statistics), and many informative articles that are easy for students to read and understand. Some of the articles were on Buddhism, the Korean War and the Qing Dynasty.

I like this site because as a teacher it provides me with real resources that I can display in class. Most importantly the language is at a level where it educates my 9th graders in a way that they can easily understand
