I was/am on the hunt for a user friendly website my students can easily access with our classroom ipads/computers/laptops during our lesson.  I wanted to find a highly visual website that would help my students match the image of the artifact with the name and the period it was from.  My students thrive with highly didactic and visual material.  The images are a good size for even my students with visual impairment to see, hoever, the images are not that many in each link.  For my students it wold work because I modify all their curriculum and make accomodations to the content so that they are given smaller amounts of content for them to be able to process the information at their pace, so for that reason thsi website works.

The website is easy to navigate and has the titles of the artifacts categorized in about 5-7 easy categories.  These are the categories:

    Liao Dynasty Buddhist Artifacts

    Ancient Asian Buddhas and Statues

Tang& Ming Dynasty and Warriing States Artifacts

    Ancient Chinese Weapons

These are just to name a few.  When you click on the link for any of the categories above you encounter at least two images and a brief synopsis of the artifact shown in the picture.  It is simple, clear and concise for a lesson that would last at least 45 minutes.

For my higher functioning students the website below is a great little find on the internet that shows more indepth titles, categories and names for the students to navigate and research.

All in all I think these two website give glimpses into the different ancient chinese artifacts- including nice pictures and brief explamations as to what they are and what they were used for.  The goal is for me to give them the instruction and guidance on Ancient Asian Artifacts, including what website to go to and for them to find the page and follow the research guidelines I have for them as independently as possible.  They can continue to have the website open and make inferences about the ancient culture and how these artifacts served their purpose throughout history.
