Viddsee (www.viddsee.com) is a video sharing platform that is focused on short films from throughout Asia. I have found it to be quite helpful to use in the classroom or just to kill an afternoon exploring different videos. Most of the films are between 10-30 minutes long, so there are many, many movies that can easily be incorporated into the classroom. There are both fictional films and documentaries, and there are all kinds of styles. There is, for example, some wonderful animation. You can search by region, by topic, by popularity, etc, so it's easy to find something that looks promising. And, since they’re very brief, you can quickly move on to something else if your first choice doesn’t work. A couple of tips: First, I have had problems loading the site in my classroom, so you might want to check to make sure that your school’s internet will cooperate. If it doesn’t work, they also have a YouTube channel that you can try. Second, although nearly all of the films are appropriate for high school students, it’s good to check them out first just to make sure they work for your classroom.
