This is a website from Columbia University and their east Asia studies department. It's got a ton of resources! It's primarily geared towards educators, but there are lots of things that can be useful to students as well. One of my favorite sections is the "Art" section containing online museum resources on asian art. It's got a ton of interesting museums listed and different exhibits. It's like going to a museum digitally! I'm certain I can get students to visit these places and, just as an example, go to this digital museum and answer the questions posed there. http://depts.washington.edu/chinaciv/archae/2tommain.htm
The website in general is very easy to use and the user is presented with very clear choices. One other feature I like is the Resources by Time Period, where you can click on a period of history and find specific resources on that time. This could also be used by students to present a topic about their chosen country and allow them to pick a time period, learn something from that period and present it to the class.
Really, it's a fantastic find. Especially for teachers, but really for anyone who wants to learn about east asian history, culture, art, language, music, or religion. It's also got sections specifically for elementary school students, and teachers who need DBQs! Amazing!
