I chose to ‘Kidipede’ as part of website review for the USC China Institute’s Seminar.

· When you go the website, two parts are displayed. Part one has 16 blocks of two squares
inches. Each has a question like: What does Passover celebrate? Why do horses like apples? Who invented zero? When you click on a button, a picture comes and there is bunch of information about the topic. For instance, I clicked on the button with the question: Why did people want to punch Socrates? There was a two-page write-up giving all the details about Socrates, Plato and so on.

· The left side panel, called Also Read, has various topics like Ancient China,
Ancient India, Central Asia. I clicked on ‘Ancient China’ and found detailed pages and pages of information different things like people, places, and dynasties.

· This website is ideal for students who are good at reading and want to know more about different things not covered in the textbooks and regular classroom lectures. Comes as extra in doing research projects and serves as resource for parents who want to help at home.

· Not suitable for students with special needs who are usually below grade-level in reading and comprehension. Activities like games and puzzles would suit that student population.
