I was introduced to this site by a colleague who teaches World History, but it lends itself well to Economics, which is what I teach. According to their website, IndexMundi's mission is "to turn raw data from all over the world into useful information for a global audience."
IndexMundi is a data portal that gathers facts and statistics from sources such as the CIA World Factbook, World Bank, National Statistical Office, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization, and turns them into easy-to-use visuals. The site allows you to make charts and maps comparing data from multiple countries. Data is expansive, including information on economics, demographics, government, military, and a wide array of other indicators.
I particularly like the country comparisons feature which allows you to compare two (or more) countries along data parameters of your choosing. You can also compare smaller political entities such as states, counties, and even cities. It is also available in different languages.
