    Website Review: http://www.lizadalby.com/LD/tale_of_murasaki.html

The website I am reviewing is a site dedicated to various Japanese writing especially giving information about The Tale of Murasaki which is connected to Murasaki Shikibu who wrote The Tale of Genji. It is by Liza Dalby and she is a historical researcher of cultural anthropology and has found a deep interest in the culture of Japan, especially the geisha. Her website is dedicated to giving information about Shikibu and her life. This would be a great resource for students to learn about Shikibu and of Japanese culture. It has a section for life and culture of the time of Shikibu which has tabs for information on pets, fashion, music, architecture, and Shikibu’s place in Japanese literature. There is also a tab for historical characters such as Tametoki and Sei Shonogan which students can research and learn more about. Overall, this is a great site to gain valuable information on Japanese literature.
