PBS used to broadcast a show called Wide Angle. The documentary style show ran international stories and presented them in an in-depth manner. Wide Angle stories were expertly produced and well-written, but what was perhaps most impressive was the level of access the producers of the show had. Certain stories were expecially capitaving in that they offered rare glimpses into places, situaitons, and stories that were hard to reach. The reportage was international in scope, but there were many stories produced concerning Asia, especially China, North Korea, and Japan. The Wide Angle website is full of useful resources, photographs, and videos that would greatly supplement any curriculum. I have personally used their "A State of Mind" episode(s) and videos ("All For One," "Mass Games," "One Party") when I cover North Korea. While I haven't heard of the show being cancelled, it has been inactive for quite some time now. Regardless, the website is still operational and chock-full of great resources.
