Amy Tan's The Joy Luck Club is taught in many high schools. There are several websites out there, but I prefer the one below because it offers detailed information on the author, and several of Tan's works, including literary criticism and film reviews.

In her novels and short stories, Tan focuses on the role of women in Asian culture and the challenges they face when transitioning to American culture. Understanding Asian women's roles and the contributions they have made to their culture are also highlighted in Tan's books. The sources in this website emphasize these aspects of Tan's works. Enjoy!
