I was introduced to this free resource when I was teaching AP World History, and many of its resources are geared towards that course.  However, the lessons and resources are useful in a variety of classes, notably Social Studies (I use some of them in my AP Human Geography course).  The website is well-organized with clearly marked and easy-to-follow tabs, and focuses not just on content regarding the Koreas, but also Best Practices for teaching the content, and skills needed to analyze that content, such as DBQs, Comparison, Contextualization, etc.

They also have many PD seminars where these resources are taught, and stay current with newer styles that appeal to this generation.  The seminar I attended in Orlando a few years ago included an 'Escape Room' lesson that my students enjoy.  With the 'staying current', this website also has updated to include lessons pertaining to COVID and Korea, and already hosted a 4-part webinar concerning South Korea's response to COVID, and North Korea (to the extent possible).

WHDEF understands and promotes the procurement and use of Primary Sources.  They are working continuously to record memories of Korean War veterans before it is too late. They also sponsor a fellowship trip to Korea for educators to experience the culture and history there, as well as sponsor project grants educators can apply for to help improve their specific classroom educational experience regarding Korea, which results in sharing their results with the website as well.

As for student use in particular, this website is not really pertinent to their use.  It is almost wholly geared towards helping teachers learn more about the vital peninsula, and use engaging lessons with the students – providing ideas, resources, plans, etc.
