Thank you so much for these presentations! They both are very interesting, I lived in Beijing for one year and I was never fully aware of their existance and their important history that dates back to hundred of years. As a language teacher, I believe is important to be aware of these social issues when teaching a language because we're not only teaching a tool to communicate, we are also teaching a culture that reflects it, and of course, the current social situation.
I completely agree that as teachers, we need to find ways to build bridges and communications instead of building walls and prejudices that can just hurt inocent people. Part of our jobs is to be open and supportive to students as well as foreign students, to encourage them all to be respectful and aware of social conflicts globally.
Excellent! You picked my favorite Disney movie. I love this animated film because it shows the ancient part of the history of China that not many students know. It is a very engaging movie and easy to follow and get the student's attention. I also love the fact that embraces women's point of view and her bravery is just amazing and admirable. Disney's Mulan is also a perfect wat to start a conversation about the gender roles and steretypes play in Asian societies, especially in China and Japan which can be very different, in my opinion.
These information is very interesting! It takes me back to Chengde, a beautiful city with Tibetan influences and a big Buddhist temple where I learned most of what I had know about this religion. Now I know the importance of how this religion developed in each country outside of India. It is just very engaging to see everything how it developed. How is now integrated and practice all over Asia mainly. Religion has cross an important path to the most important cities that we see now and I can show my students the importance of it as part of history.

Personally, I don't listen to k-pop music but I now understand the whole culture aspect that it involves as well the social movement that has been out there for many decades, it is very interesting to see the k-pop bands and all their philatropic efftort. I love how this music genre has been influeced by many other interesting aspects and the most important one how it has cross borders all over the world. It is also interesting to think how and see that korean culture has exprienced difficulties along the way like many other nations and subcultures. I am sure their music has inspired many young girls and boys to be themsevles and help others. As a language teacher, I really admire how this music has motivated people to study korean language. When we learn a new language we're also learning a new different culture and Korean life is a very mesmerizing one.
