I am a high school teacher in Canberra, Australia. My teaching areas are Geography (Year Levels 7 through to 10), Global Studies (Year 11 and Year 12) and Global Politics as part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Within the Global Studies and Global Politics courses we investigate Global Processes - Power, sovereignty, international relations, Global challenges (human rights and development, sustainability) and Global Opportunities (Peace, conflict). Given China is becoming more economically powerful, its influence grows and, consequently, forms part of class discussion quite regularly. I am keen to garner more ideas to adapt into my lessons.
