Actually, my partner and I came up with the perspective of tolerance and kindness of Min Ziqian, which are extremely important to be a man in China. Even though the stepmother mistreated him and tortured him, but he tolerated whay happened and his the truth from his dad because he believed this would keep peace for his family. Later on, his father discovered the facts his wife mistreated his son and insisted to kick her out as consequences for his her unstandarded behviors heartlessly, Min showed his kindness to forgive her still for the stabilization of their family. Eventually, his stepmother woke from her evil thoughts and returned kindness to her stepson. Family played a big role in this piece.

Dr. Dube deepened the Chinese familism and the big change of the chinese family structures and relationship. In ancient China, grandparents used to centered with sons and daughters, then grandsons and granddaughters as pyramid bounded together with happiness and sorrors, but in modern China the pyrimid has been flipped over as grandson/granddaughter-centered with their parents and four grandparents, which completely changed the family stucture and foccus " Grandparent became grandson, and women went uo to teh sky" "Super Mom make perfect children" effects. In order to develop a "dragon Son parents sacrifice their lives, their happiness, even their career in order to have their children for the best education with the best outcomes. At the same time, these children are under tremendous pressure becasue they have to satifiy their parents with their grades and achievements. Not just parents are tired, the kids are extremely tired too. They are burdened from theri childhood with heanvy duties, learning English, developeing skills of playing instruemnts. dancing, singing, playing sports, etc. completely lost their childhood in playing, which we believe is an important way to learn.  Of course, their parents and grandparents will do all things to make theor dreams come true. This really bothers me a lot as an educator.

Wow, what an amazing connection of ancient Chinese female writer, Ban Zhao with her seven lessons for women with the modern popular film "Crazy Rich Asians¨ presented by Preffsor Yan from UCLA this morning. He actually deepened our thoughts about the gender, age, and generations in China even though i was born and raised there, I really never thought through all what happened from now and then in pursuing our happiness, which conflicting our traditional social norms and proprieties. Ban Zhaoƛ sever lessons for women "humility( Beirou); Husband and wife; respect and caution; womanly conduct; singlemindedness; implicit obedience; Harmony and relatives¨ acutally set up rules for our behaviors to be a perfect lady, but we actually lost our happiness and freedom as we believed "Freedom is an opportunity for us to live the life we want to live in¨, which really put me into deep htinking of the roles I play in this modern society. Of course, I am an extremely traditional Chinese woman influenced by those "Three Odediences and Four Virtues¨, which restricted my hebaviors and thinking, but I pursue and enjoy freedom as well. I think this is a great topics I´d like to introduce and discuss with my 10th graders.

Hi Ingrid, I love your reading about Chinese cuisine. I'd like to inroduce four major Chinese cuisines here, Sichuan food, Beijing Cuisine, Yue Dishes ( Cantonese Food), and Lu Dishes ( Shangdong) represented four different local flavors in China. Sichuan Food is famous for its rich color, spicy flavor, and its fantastic tastes. ( Chongqing Hotpot, double-cooked pork, Sichuan Doufu. You can taste these kind of food in Meizhou DongPo Restuarant in Central City, Universal City Walk, and Arcadia). Berjig Dishes are fmouse its art deccor used to serve in the anciant chinese courts, famous dishes include Bejing Crispy Duck, variety of soupd, etc. Cantanese food is the very popular in USA becasue the first Chinese who arrived here during Gold Rush were from Fujian, and Guangdong, so they brought in cantonese food. Majority of the Seafood restuarant here in USA are cantanese food. By the way, if you have free time to taste of China, please let me know, I'd like to guide you to the authentic Chinese food.

" Seek Truth from the Facts" is a scientic approach theoricall promoted by different leaders in China in different eras and made different impacts on Chinese devolopment. In 1940s, when Mao Zedong mentioned " Seek truth from the facts", he intentionally to try to liberate people from the landlords, and local gentry to a people's rebuplic of China. As he mentioned "The only yardstick of truth is the revolutionary practice of millions of people. This, I think, can be regarded as the attitude of Chinese Culture." WHen Deng Xiaoping mention " Seek truth from the facts", he used the theory to guide people to gather facts from their practice to develop economy. HE encouraed Chinese to learn from others, from experts from other countries to help ourselves to eb developed. He actually led Chinese to seek the suitable methods for changes economically. Ether Ma Zedong or Deng Xiaoping, they used the " seek from the truth' for different purposes and outcomes, it turned out this is guiding theory for us.Both os them proved their practice using the doctrine to liberate china and move China all the way to the world leading  country.

As the founding Father of the Republic of China.  In the article provided by Dr. Dube , Sun Yat Sen mentioned three points that China must be made of Republic. First, it is widely known that the people constitue the foundation of nation and they are all equal in their own country.  Secondly, from the historical point of view, "Chinese were forced into the position of anished and suffered oppression for moeth two hundreds and six year."  A third reason,  "That in China prolonged periods of disorder usually followed a revolution was due to the desire of every insurgent to be a king and to his subsequent contention for the throne.", which strongly and precisely stated his reasons why China has to be made republic .

Reviewed the article about Chinese Exclusion Act 1868-1882 provided by Dr. Dube, I felt so painful to accept the facts. THe first Chinese immigrations came to USA at teh GOLD RUSH time , alsoed cledd ' Gold Mountains" ( Jin Shan). Many Chinese landed here as " Bitter toils" ( Cooolies), they worked in a very harsh condition for manimum wages with unbelievable mistreatments from their lords with beards. They worked on the constructions of railraods and any other jibs Americans didn't eant to do. THeir hardworking, tolerance, patience, and kindnesss were insinterpretated , but many of them flought their own ways to survive and send money back to their family for fulfill their reaponsibility. WIth their hard workand  intellegence, many of them learned new industrial ways and went back to their countries, but many of them chose to stay here and develop themselves. The US government permitted free immigration for China. THey could come like other nations in 1968, which encouraged many Chinese to come and work at minimum- wage jobs. Later on, Japan and other nations. The Chinese Exclusion in 1882 suspended Chinese immegration, which reflecting the American immigration wave of PUSH -PULL purposes.

In " Anime, Film, and Manga Adaptations in English Translation,"  Lynne Miyake provided plenty detailed about Japenes anime, which is very useful for our students becasue our students are so interested in Japanese Cartoon characters and anime. My collegues, Mr. Ramos organized an " Animation Club" to provide students opportunities to explore more under teachers' guidance with all students who are really interested and dedicated in anime together. I will difinitely forward these information from Professor Miyaketo them. As our teacher in this cohert did research on " Barefoot Gen"by Keiji Nagazawa, which is a great idea for our club members to watch and have great conversations about the arts itself and the content " Pearl Harbaor".

40 years later, when chinese reviewed the speech Deng Xiaoping made on Dec.13, 1978 stating " Enmancipate the mind, use our brains, and seek truth fom the facts." After his open policy, the coatal cities he circled out were quickly developing with prioritized policies and aupports, which atrracted highly educated and experienced experts or intelligent people for their dream positions with their passion and compassion. He indicated not just. people from all over China from top to bottom lines, everyone has to seek truth from the facts and dedicste the " Four modernizations" to move forward together. He mentioned that enmancipating our minds is very important because it helps us to seek differnt ways to develop our country and get rid of poverty. We have to keep our minds iopen and use our brains to find variety ways to solve problems. He also mentioned " We have to learn economic management with economic methods, If we don't understand, then, we need to learn from our experts sincerely. We also need to learn managments from foreign companies to strenghten ourselves. We can start from centein areas, districts, or cities, then spread out. We have to encourage more innovative trials and support them. Of course, there will be problems or conflicts during the experiments, we need to immediately find them out and solve the problem one by one so that we can move forward based on our experiences." This was very inspiring to all Chinese. His speech enoouraged those brave and risk-takers to throw their iron-bowls and do what they really wanted to do based on their skills and experiences. Many people chose Shenzhen, one of the circled city by Deng Xiaoping to develop their skills and challenge themselves. They went through the same hiring procedures for certain position fairly no matter what position you had before. Some people loaned from the banks and set their own small business... Chinese were motivated to develop their economy, which was the beginning of the Chinese economy growth.

When I looked the card titled " Performing late-marry and family planning for doing revolution", I remebered my parents. I knew mom and dad never met each other before they got married. My dad was serving in the army, and one of his friends introduced my mom to him. He met my beautiful mom and immediately married her and continued serve in the army as police officer. They kept writing letters to each other till my mom had my sister, their first baby. Because of my dad's contrbution, they arranged my dad and mom's reunion by assigning him a position near my homwtown, where he could take care of his family, but they planned to have no more children till they had me and my brother. They had serious talk, then my mom went to the hopsital and did surgery so that they would not have any more babies becasue my dad was a communist party member, and he later became the director. From Chinese govenment, he was honored a great member who contributed and dedicated for his entire life to the belief he held. He was loyal member, a great man to the Chinese party member as he was recognized by the Mayor at his funeral in 2006.

After Mao has passed away many years, Chinese still memorized him as a great leader, an educator, pholosopher, writer, military thinker, et. becasue he contributed to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 and completeld liberized all peasants from the landlords, evil gentry, and local tyrants. In 1927, Mao tried to motivate peasant movements to take over the power and establish ideal governments that benefit majority of the farmers atarting from his hometown Hunan. Mao realized that in China's southern, northern, central provinces, there'er hundreds of millions of peasants would be rise like a mighty storm. so No power could hold it back. It actually happened as he predicted. the peasant movements started from Hunan like the little fire blowing all over China. They threw over the local tyrants, evil gentry, and lawless lanlords and became their masters who owned their own lands legally.

By 2030, China plans plans to the world leader in artificial intelligence. Since 2000, China has build high spped rails system to spur techical development and and transportation system, which shorten the traveling time between citiies. I know from CHongqing to Chengdu, usuaally it will take 6 hrs by bus, but it's just 2hrs by High Speed train with much more effiiciency. In 2016 , CHina dominated AI funding, "48 per cent of total equity funding of AI start-ups globally came from China, compared to 38 per cent funded by the US, and 13 per cent by the rest of the world.", this states that China's growth in AI.Based on what they have achieved, they laid ou plan to ultimately become  AI world leader plan in 2017 with $150 million AI industrial grwoth.

I really appreciated Dr.Kubo's sinsere word choices used to depict the apologies from Japan to USA becasue of the Pearl Harbor Attack, but how about the " Little Boy" and " Fat Man" bombing of Hirohima and Nagasaki to make Japan surrender unconditionally, the damages to the innocent residents are beynd our imagination without considerations. The Little Boy immediately killed 80.000 people, later ten of thousands died of radiation exposure, and the Fat Man killed 40,000 people to end WWII. Who was going to be blamed? Do we have any other ways to force Japan surrender instead of thowing neclear bombs to kill innocent people at that time to bombard the left two unbombed cities ?
