Hi everyone, my name is Xiaozhen Li. I teach Mandarin at a high school in the San Francisco bay area. I just finished the Contemporary China seminar and very excited in learning more about East Asia. Besides teaching the Chinese language in the class, I would like to teach more about the Chinese or Asian culture and history. I am looking forward to this course.

There is Ameican dream in the U.S. There is Chinese dream in China since 2012.. I showed the 3 episodes of Time of Xi to the level 3 and 4 students in my Mandarin class. My students were very suprise to see how the communist part is now.

China is open 2 children policy to all Chinese people now. However, many young couples don't want to have a second child due to the pressure of the economy, education, housing, etc.

I will show my students the comparison of the geography and demography of China and the United States so that students can easier to understand.

    Time of Xi:

Hi everyone, my name is Xiaozhen Li. I teach Mandarin at a high school in Pinole, California. I taught Mandarin I to AP for six years at a private high school before. Now, I am starting to build a new Mandarin program at an IB public high school. We have Mandarin I and II this year. It will be going to IB Mandarin in the next two years. China is developing so fast. As a Chinese native myself living in the U.S. for over 10 years still don't know many things about contemporary China. I am very looking forward to this course.
