Those ideas about Japanese manufactures are so impressive. Japanese people are doing well to protect their unique culture. Also, Japanese cloth Kimono are so beautiful. I would like to show my students how to dress Kimono, and combine with tea ceremony to show the charm of Japanese culture.

Japanese people realized the changes fo the world, so that they adjusted themselves to the changes of the world. That is such a big influence on Japanese mordern history. I admire the decison of Japanese commandors who made such a big decison. I will combine this time period with the same period of China to teach my students.

Samurai is so famous. Although I never learn Japanese history, I know this spirit is the core idea of Japanese culture. Both Samurai class and Samurai spirit are unique in Japan. It never form a class in Korea and China. The porcelins in Japan are so beautiful. I didn't realize Korea and Japan could make porcelins like China did. Noh theater is also unique in Japanese culture. In fact, the face mask looks so creepy. The smile on the face mask looks like smile, but sometimes like a crying face. It looks like ghost. I never watch Noh theater in real life. But I watched it on Youtube. The style of the show is very slow and classical . The backgound music is very gloomy. I would like to introduce this art style to my students

Those arms were well used in Japan. Japanese people are so wise, they redegined and reproduced guns which orginially from British. The religion rules in Japan were so strict. However, because the foundation of Japan is Shinto, so it is reasonable that the government during that period of time exclude Chrischan. Similar to China, Buddism were well embeded into local religion, so Japanese embraced Buddism so well.

I was so fasinated by the tea ceremony in Japan. They appreciated the tea tools from China and respect tea culture from China and even develop them to their specific style. The tea house is so exquisite. Even the garden around the tea house, and the road toward tea house are so delicated. Those icons shows the philosophical life-style of Japanese people. I love Macha so much! I think it is a great invention from Japanese. I would like to learn the process of tea ceremony and show it to my students.

The professor listed the Ancient, classical, mediavel, early modern and modern peroids. The timeline is so useful for me to understand Japanese history. I will put it into my future lesson plan. The Japanese Armors are so cool. In my classroom, we can try to use hard paper to create some  for students to wear those Armors. Also, both dagger and sword represent the samurai spirit, which can be used to teach my students in the class to understand Japanese culture better.

I'm so engjoy in this lecture. The professor mentioned how the rituals forms from confucious theory, and how the people played the music intruments, which were originally from China. They played them not only for ceremony, but also for entertament. I'm so interested in how those women and men interact with each other. Those rules were under the Confucious rule systems. The last activity, those people were drinking and made poetry, was so romantic. I hope I can bring my students to do the activity during the cherry blossom time in spring.

The lecture one shows the regligions in Japan: Shinto, Buddism and Yin Yang division. Those religion theories are well combined in Japanese culture. The shinto is similar to Shamanism in Korea, which can predict the weather and other daily life things. Shamanism also can communicate with the people who have already died. Buddism plays a important role in Japanese history. It helps the government to rule people well. But Buddism also provide some pholosophical thinking solutions. Yin Yang theory aslo from China. It guided Japanese people to view the things in opposite ways. Male and Female, cold and hot, good and bad. Everything can be viewed from Yin Yang perspective.

The Jomon period began approximately 13,000 years B. C. Jomon Culture is similar to other cultures in the world. I wonder why so many countries have similar pottery areas. The excavation of Japan helps the world understand Japanese history better. How did Japanese people make pottery in history? Could the technology be influence by the mainland? From the lecture, I also realized that the people who were living in Jomon culture is different from the main Japanese people later. Those Jomon people maybe the native Japanese People.

I can take my students to have a video trip through the Internet. The Japanese map, located in a specific place, shows the potteries representing history. This is the beginning Journey of Japan's history. Similar to the beginnings of other cultures.

    Final Essay

The most significant relevance of my future teaching is about designing a sustainable city to protect our environment.

Attitudes: I am so excited about teaching urban city planning. I think students should have design thinking. Asia's history and culture are so important for my students to learn. As a language teacher, my expectation is not only to teach them about the characters and comprehensions but also to make sure they can have the broadened learning contents. I also want to build their critical thinking minds, so the materials from this seminar are so useful. They can learn Asia cultures as well as think of how to help East Asia to have sustainable development.

Approaches: Students need to work in groups.

First of all, they need to learn about the history of Urban cities in East Asia. They also need to get the background of colonization. After they finish these topics, they need to summarize their knowledge of East Asia.

Secondly, I will ask them to do a survey of how big cities in China looks like; they need to do the searches online and give me the outlines of those cities.

Thirdly, I will give them a model city like Seoul, to show them what were the environmental problems in history, and how did they conquer those issues. Then I will ask students to diagnose the environmental issues in China, and they give me the solutions of how to deal with those problems.

Finally, after they give me the designing plans, they also need to criticize all the plans in the class, in order to see the problems we have to deal with immediately, and the problems that we cannot solve them for many years.

Materials: I will use pictures, websites, books, and maps of those cities.  Students can use any materials they like.

I am so glad to know that many people think about taking care of our environment and recorrect the wrong decisions about dealing with the climate. Our planet has too many people, and our environment cannot sustain the destroy on the ground. I feel so touched by the story of Seoul, where the river was rebuilt by those people. I know China is also taking care of the environment for recent decades. Big cities like Shanghai and Hangzhou are very clean. And the woman in the picture is also an environment protector because she is sending those boxes to the recycle center. She also makes money from selling those boxes. I feel so proud of her behaviors. They are many people like her who are living in big cities to earn money like this way.
Thank you for Section 5! I reviewed what I have learned for the last several weeks. I will apply the learning contents to my teaching!

I searched for Kowloon walled City, and I felt astounded about the environment and the people living there. I only hear about this place from Hong Kong Kung Fu movies, but I have no idea of what it exactly looks. The pictures of Kowloon make me feel uncomfortable since I cannot bear the dirty environment. I believe that a tidy environment can contribute to friendly personalities. A harsh environment may make people feel depressed and self-abasement. I feel so happy that most of them have a better living environment after the Kowloon place had been taken down.

Colonization is not a positive word in China, which implies the old China was weak. Colonization did give many cities of China thriving markets and also leave the fantastic western buildings. Those cities are still significant in China, for example, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Xiamen. Robust economic systems always influence other countries. Their influence includes culture, merchandise, and the opinion of the strong government. Now China is a significant financial system, so other countries, including Japan and Korean, are influenced by China again like the previous history shows.
